About Hopadoo Tales

Big Lessons for Little Hearts — colorful stories, learning activities, songs and animated adventures for young children and the grown-ups reading with them.

What Hopadoo Tales is

Hopadoo Tales is a children’s brand built around four friends — Pico, Kiki, Tuba and Mimi — who live by a pond and keep running into the kinds of problems small children recognise.

It spans picture books, early-learning activity books, songs and rhymes, and animated stories. The books are written under the pen name Nola Sprig.

The site is written for parents, carers, teachers and librarians — the people deciding what to read next — even though the stories themselves are for the children listening.

What guides the stories

  • One clear lesson

Each story is built around a single idea a small child can actually hold on to — being brave, being kind, asking for help.

  • Feelings taken seriously

Being scared, frustrated or shy is treated as normal and worth naming, not as something to get over quickly.

  • Made to be read aloud

Short sentences, a rhythm that carries, and pages that give the reader somewhere to pause.
